In this month's edition of On Point, COVID-19 is the top priority and main focus as the Department aims to point veterans, active duty service members, and their families toward resources as concerns continue to grow.

In this edition of On Point, the department brings to light up and coming events, information on the North Carolina 2020 Census initiative, free tax return preparation for current military service members, and information on North Carolina scholarships for Children of Wartime Veterans.

Highlighted in our first newsletter of the year are items from 2019 and things to come in 2020. We are proud that last year's events, groundbreakings & ceremonies, brought new, and exciting ways to serve our Veterans and active duty service men and women. We are poised to do even more this year! We hope you will take a moment to read "On Point" and reflect on DMVA's previous accomplishments, and prepare yourself to join us this year for exciting things to come.

In this month's edition of On Point, we take a glance at the DMVA's 2nd Annual African American Veteran Lineage Day, the USO of NC Patriot Circle Luncheon and host of notable events and important announcements.
DMVA On Point Newsletter highlights the Department's month of activities and profiles partner agencies, departments, and community activities centered around helping the state of North Carolina's active duty military community and veteran population. Check out the website at
