Saluting Women Veterans

Event Description

The “We Honor Veterans” program will be hosting a long overdue event in Winston-Salem NC on June 10 to recognize and honor Women Veterans for their service to our country, regardless of which branch, when or where they served.  Because women are not as likely to wear hats, shirts, etc., identifying themselves as Veterans as male Vets, they often go unrecognized and underserved.  We expect to have over 250 Women Veterans in attendance, from their mid-20s to WWII Veterans nearly 100 years old.  Total attendance should near 800.

Because of sponsor support, this event is FREE to our Women Veteran honorees and one guest each.

This event will be a great opportunity to recognize any Women Veterans in the community, who you might have in your organization, or business network who might be interested in attending.  Please share this event information with your team members who are involved in community and military/Veteran support projects.

Our mission is to honor our Women Veteran attendees.  This event will be highly visible within the general community and especially the military and Veteran population.  There are nearly 800,000 Veterans in North Carolina, over 70,000 of them are Women.

The Women’s Memorial Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundations are both sponsors of the event and will have speakers at the event representing their organization. Both the US and North Carolina Departments of Veterans Affairs will have staff at the event to support our Women Veteran attendees.

The “We Honor Veterans” program at Hospice & Palliative Care Center is very proud to be the host for this very important event.
