Day of Democracy, Dialogue, and Dance

Event Description

On Saturday, April 27, 2019, we invite all active duty military, veterans, their families and our community to explore complex issues facing our veteran and active duty military, by participating in a day of dialogue, storytelling, & moving. During this free event participants will come together to hear, listen, offer different stories and perspectives on the various impacts of military service, and collaborate to create a performance piece. The full community is invited to a public performance of the stories brought forth during the day, followed by a community discussion on the information shared and action items.

Noon-5pm We want you -- active duty and veterans -- to join a small group of approx. 20-30 active duty, veterans, military family members, Black Box Dance Theatre members, and Friday Fellows. The group will come together to hear, listen, and offer different stories and perspectives on the various impacts of military service. This session is designed for up to 30 active duty, veterans, and family members.

Children eight years of age or above are welcome to participate in an age appropriate space. If you have questions or concerns about younger children or child care issues that may prevent you from participating, please contact us.

5pm-7pm Dinner will provided to the day's working group and special guests.

7pm The full community is invited to a public performance of the issues and stories brought forth during the day followed by a community discussion on the information shared and action items. This evening segment is design for up 120 members of participant's families and the general public.
