National POW/MIA Recognition Day

Event Description

National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed on the third Friday in September. It honors those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. It is most associated with those who were POWs during the Vietnam

While our Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency continues its noble mission of Fulfilling Our Nation’s Promise,” we all know there is much to be done as (1,559 military; 28 civilians) who served during the Vietnam War period remain unaccounted for. We hope you will join the Nation The National League of POW/MI Families as together, in our local communities, we take time to remember those who have not yet returned home, as well as the families who diligently await word of their respective loved one’s fate.
