NC MAC

About

The NC Military Affairs Commission was established within the Office of the Governor by Senate Bill 613, effective August 1st, 2013. In 2015, House Bill 97 made the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs responsible for organizational, budgetary and administrative purposes of the Commission. The Secretary of Military and Veterans Affairs serves as the administrative head of the Commission and is responsible for the operations and normal business activities of the Commission, with oversight by the Commission.

Committee Members for Economic Development

The Economic Development Standing Committee assists with military related economic retention and recruitment efforts.

Committee Members for Base Sustainability and Community Affairs

The Base Sustainability and Community Affairs Standing Committee primary responsibility is to protect North Carolina’s existing military installations and missions from incompatible development, degradation, or other adverse actions.

Committee Members for Quality of Life

The Quality of Life Standing Committee works to improve quality of life for military members and families.

Committee Members for Legislative Affairs

The Legislative Affairs Standing Committee assists with legislative and state agency coordination for military related issues.
