What We Do
North Carolina is home to the 4th‑largest military population and the 8th‑largest Veteran population in the nation. The North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (NCDMVA) is dedicated to supporting these communities and their families. From assisting servicemembers as they transition into civilian life to helping Veterans access the benefits they’ve earned, our agency is committed to serving them every step of the way.
NCDMVA operates 12 Veterans Service Centers across the state, ensuring every Veteran has access to a qualified Veterans Service Officer, no matter where they live. We also oversee 5 State Veterans Homes and 4 State Veterans Cemeteries that provide care and honor to those who have served. We thank our servicemembers, Veterans, and their families for their service and sacrifice. We strive every day to ensure North Carolina continues to become the best place for our military and Veteran communities to call home.
