David Brown

Director of State Veterans Cemeteries

David Brown serves as the Director of State Veterans Cemeteries for the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. In this role, he provides leadership and oversight for four state veterans cemeteries to ensure every veteran receives an honorable and dignified burial.  

Prior to joining N.C. Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, David worked in executive leadership in the cemetery and funeral industry for over 20 years.

David was responsible for funeral home and cemetery operations within his market. His responsibilities included budget administration, project management, strategic planning, hiring, and training. David directed capital projects to strengthen infrastructure within his market. David was accountable for improving JD Power Scores to enhance customer satisfaction and service quality.

David is past president of the North Carolina Cemetery Association and served on the North Carolina Cemetery Commission.
