The North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (NC DMVA) has identified significant repair needs and structural deficiencies at the State Veteran Home Fayetteville (SVHF) located on the federal VA hospital campus. In response to these findings, the Department made the decision to close and replace the current facility and assist the 85 residents relocate to other State Veterans Homes or any facility of their choice.
After 79 years missing from World War II, U.S. Army Air Forces Tuskegee Airmen Second Lieutenant Fred L. Brewer Jr. of Charlotte has finally come home. His remains were laid to rest with full military honors at Salisbury National Cemetery today.
Today, November 9th at 10am, the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (NC DMVA), in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NC DNCR) and the North Carolina Museum of History, hosted the induction of the 2023 class of the North Carolina Military Hall of Firsts to highlight the accomplishments of North Carolinians who have served our country.
