Stephanie High
Stephanie (Scaparrotti) High is a seasoned communications and public affairs leader with extensive experience in higher education, military affairs, and digital media. As Communications Director for NCDMVA, she oversees strategic messaging, media relations, and public engagement initiatives that connect North Carolina’s veterans and military families with vital resources and programs.
Stephanie hails from a proud military family, a background that deeply informs her commitment to serving those who have served. This personal connection drives her passion for ensuring veterans and their families receive the recognition, support, and resources they deserve.
Before joining NCDMVA, Stephanie served as the Chief of Social Media and Communications at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, where she supported institutional outreach and storytelling for one of the nation’s most prestigious military academies. Her work there strengthened engagement with cadets, alumni, and the broader military community.
She also brings a strong academic foundation to her role, having taught as a faculty member at the community college level in both New York and North Carolina. In addition, Stephanie has contributed to several online publications, leveraging her expertise in content creation and digital strategy to amplify voices and share compelling narratives.
Stephanie holds a Master of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and is passionate about using communication to honor service, foster community, and advance the mission of NCDMVA.
